An innovative medical device model to be presented to a selective board of directors.

During my final undergraduate co-op at Bridgemedica, I was challenged to develop a model for an innovative bland embolization technology. The challenge came not only from designing a functional model that could be machined and used for testing, but also in designing a visually attractive concept to be shown to the client's board of directors, all under a tight deadline.

I first used SOLIDWORKS to design and 3D print a rudimentary model to verify the mechanics worked. Over the next several days I made several revisions to the CAD models with aesthetics at the forefront, using advice from engineers and machinists to aid my design choices.

The tight deadline required a few late nights' work, but I was able to provide a CAD model that was turned into the rendering you see here. The renders were given to the client's board of directors, who promptly greenlit the next phase of development.
